Individual therapy with Abby

The most important thing to me as a therapist is that I provide a warm and non-judgemental space for you to feel truly seen, heard and understood

There are times in all of our lives when things can feel too overwhelming to navigate on our own. Therapy can provide support, clarity and guidance during challenging times and can allow us to experience profound life changes.

It can be daunting to begin with a new therapist, especially if it’s your first experience of therapy. However, therapy can quickly become a place where you feel safe, supported and encouraged.

My areas of expertise include:

  • Anxiety & panic attacks

  • Depression & low mood

  • Imposter syndrome

  • Attachment, dating, and relationships

  • Low confidence & self-esteem

  • Complex trauma & C-PTSD

  • Grief & loss

  • Relationship problems

  • Lack of direction & purpose

  • Stress & burnout

  • Identity confusion

  • Addictions

  • Family issues & conflict

  • Pregnancy & post-natal issues

Therapy sessions are weekly and are held online.

Fully engaging in the therapeutic process can help people thrive in their personal and professional lives. It’s amazing how when things change inside of us, they begin to change around us too

My Approach

My unique way of working mixes traditional psychotherapeutic theories with cutting-edge, evidence-based techniques into a style that feels relatable, down to earth and compassionate.

  • I blend elements of neuroscience, mindfulness, psychodynamic psychotherapy, cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT) and body based/somatic psychotherapy

  • I will attend to what’s happening in your thoughts, feelings and body and draw on a range of effective techniques, tailored to you.

  • My approach is trauma-informed which means I’m never sitting across from my clients thinking “What is wrong with you?” but instead I’m thinking about the survival strategies they have adopted in response to what has happened in their life.

Above all, I believe the client-therapist relationship is the most important factor in the therapeutic experience so I work in a genuine and encouraging way, often with a healthy dose of humour

My Training and Experience

  • I am a fully-qualified trauma-informed integrative therapist, MBACP

  • I am a registered member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP)

  • I hold a diploma in integrative counselling from the Minster Centre (a UKCP registered training institute for integrative psychotherapy)

  • I adhere to the strict ethical and professional codes of the BACP and fulfil their requirements for ongoing supervision and continued professional development

  • In addition to my private practice I have worked as a therapist in a London-based charity, where I worked with many complex issues

  • Since qualification I continue developing my knowledge and skills in a number of holistic areas including: breathwork, nutrition, yoga, meditation and mindfulness
